It’s official, we are married, Lauren & Blake wedding details
In my previous blog post I told you Blake and I were engaged, the wedding was coming soon, and that I would report back to you with all the details. Well it’s official, Blake and I got married on August 4th and our wedding was completely perfect!
The Wedding Ceremony
The only things I cared about were having a good time and beautiful pictures. The ceremony was on top of a hill overlooking a huge pond, it was completely gorgeous. It was really windy during the ceremony, but honestly it made the August heat in Texas bearable. We asked Blake’s dad to officiate our ceremony and I’m so glad we did, it was so much more personal to us, because he loves us both. Blake and the guys walked in to Georgia by Ludacris and Field Mob; hence my man being from the great state of GA. The girls walked in to a song my sweet sister sent me, that I fell in love with Tie Me Down by Taylor Ray Holbrook. Here comes the bride, my dad and Brody walked me down the aisle to Beautiful Crazy by Luke Combs, and gave me away.
The Wedding Vows and Kiss
Blake and I decided to write our own vows, I was so nervous all day about saying my vows, but then I prayed about it and I finally felt so much better! Blake is the best thing to ever happen to B and I, God has truly blessed us and we’ve never been happier. Blake dipped me down and kissed me and we walked out to Wild Thoughts by DJ Khalid and Rihanna.
The Wedding Reception
After taking pictures, it was time to be announced as Mr. and Mrs. Blake Cook. Our first dance was to You Make It Easy by Jason Aldean, this song describes us perfectly. After we danced we went to cut the cakes, so I could change out of my wedding gown into a dress more outdoor Texas wedding appropriate, 🤣! My cake was of course from my favorite Bittersweet Bakery. It was a two tier cake, the top was raspberry champagne, the bottom was lemon with lemon curd filling. I also ordered 4 dozen mini red velvet cupcakes and 4 dozen mini vanilla sugar cupcakes, everything as amazing as usual. I got the grooms cake from a football mom that was on B’s football team last year, it was a butter cake with chocolate icing with a football and Georgia G, it was delicious. After we finished cutting the cakes, I changed dresses and we made our way back to the dance floor to take the garter off and toss the bouquet. Blake took my garter off to Some Cut by Trillville, which was hilarious because we were discussing wedding songs and he said, let’s use this song and I listened to it and so oh my gosh that’s so inappropriate, 🤣 he sent me a couple other options and I never told him that I kept the original song he chose. The dj made him put on show so he danced around me and then took my garter off with his teeth, 😅 needless to say it was so us! I tossed the bouquet to She Ain’t Got That Boom Like I Do (808 Remix) by Blaque, which is one of my favorite old school jams, because no one’s got that boom like I do 😉. My cousin caught the bouquet and her boyfriend caught the garter, guess there will be a wedding in their future! 😍 Next, we had the father-daughter dance, my dad and I danced to Family Man by Craig Campbell. Then it was time for the mother-son dance, Blake and his mom and B and I danced to Simple Man by Shinedown. Then our dj got the party started and we danced the night away! There was a lot of booty shaking, a little two stepping, and even some table dancing. We had the best time at our wedding and will cherish the memories forever. We left to a sparkler send off and the pictures are absolutely stunning!
Winning The Marriage Lottery
More than any of the details, I got to marry the man of my dreams. Blake is better than anything I could have ever dreamed of, I know that sounds cliché but it’s the God’s honest truth, he is the greatest man I’ve ever met and he’s an even better dad, Brody and I are truly blessed!
